Selvan joined Hackman Capital Partners (HCP) in 2020 and currently manages the tax planning and deal structuring for all new acquisitions, as well as for the Studio Platform. Selvan also is responsible for the tax compliance for company-managed properties and funds in the Unites States and all foreign jurisdictions. He advises on the tax impact of new investments, dispositions, joint ventures, and development.
Prior to joining HCP, Selvan worked as a tax lawyer for more than 15 years in public accounting firms and the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. He represented clients in real estate, finance, and renewable energy and advised on domestic and international tax matters.
Selvan earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, attended law school at the University of Illinois College School of Law, and earned his Masters of Law (LLM) in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
